Globalization Part III

Globalization is a process of diffusion. It has been going on for a long time, a really long time. I think music and its trends are good to look at for seeing how things travel. Take Czech and German music in Texas and Northern Mexico. The introduction of accordion was mixed with the bajo sexto. Polkas got slowed (skrew'd) down to accommodate for Texas heat. Eventually, the tradition of corridos and other folk music changed it into its contemporary state. Now we have Norteño and Tejano. The beautiful history lives in sound of dry and wet tuned acordeon en conjunto. But, the evolution is still growing with mixtures of Norteño light, Norteño banda, Tejano Pop, and even modern throwback bands with tololoche. It's good to see where its going. Here's an excellent band "Don Bob," they mix contemporary sounds with those traditional.
