Things Not Meant to Be

Eight years ago, this blog wouldn't have been an homage to Honda or Datsun. Back then, I had different affinities- the biggest of which was this monster Chevy big block 454. My dad and I pieced it together when I was in high school. To me, the junkyard was more of a parts store (as it is to many gear heads). The block came from a 1990 Suburban, yeah cast iron. I don't remember what vehicle donated the transmission but it had a Turbo 400, three speed. We got a Weiand Team G intake for a 100 bucks, and amazingly got that awesome Barry Grant Demon 750 CFM carb for 250. We did the true duals too. "We done all of it at the house." It was and will always be the most glorious build.
Though I dreamed of burning rubber like never imagined, this never came to pass. I guess I'll blame the economy or whatever. Sold for $1000.
